We are Southern Baptist missionaries serving in the metropolitan Porto Alegre (PoA) area of Southern Brazil. PoA area is a fairly modern collection of cities with a total population of about 5 million people, of whom less than one percent are evangelical believers.

    The area is culturally like the Texas of Brazil. The people are a mixture of Portuguese, German, Italian, and other immigrants, and have maintained a strong cultural identification with their cowboy roots from hundreds of years ago.

    The capital city is modern and relatively prosperous, with a more European flair than most Brazilian cities. Our team in the city is focused on working with Brazilian church planters to help them as they evangelize, disciple, and establish new churches.
